It is the policy of this department to investigate suspicious persons, incidents and other activities that officers encounter on patrol. It is also the intent of the department to respect and protect the constitutional rights of all individuals during law enforcement contacts and/or enforcement actions. The department encourages its officers to initiate citizen contacts as a means to stay informed about activities and concerns of persons in the community.

Anonymous Tip Line

If you would like to report possible criminal activity occurring in your neighborhood, please call (618) 391-4470 and leave a detail message for our investigators. You will not receive a call back unless you request it. Please note, if you are reporting suspicious activity and/or a crime in progress, please contact Glen Carbon Police Dispatch directly at (618) 288-7226

Need to Pay a Traffic Ticket or a Court Fine?

You can pay for your traffic citation or court fine through Madison County Court House. Follow the link and the on screen instructions.
Need a Copy of a Traffic Crash Report?

All traffic crash reports are available online at Buy Crash. Follow the link and onscreen instructions. You will need the date the crash occurred and the incident number provided to you at the time. Please note, it takes approximately 3 days for reports to post.

If it has been three days and you cannot locate your crash online, please contact our records department at (618) 288-2618.
